Sorry it took so long to get this together. Been sick and too busy with other stuff.





The usual victim, a TiXO with the usual rust lines going through it.



Used a 220 grit sand paper and sanded till I saw no more rust. Don't worry about the clear. When you are done, clean it either with the appropriate cleaning crap if you have it, I just use alcohol myself. AFter that follow it with an adhesion promotor, 3 coats 4-5 mins apart then start with the clear. Do two realy light coats with the can 8-10" away so that you just get some clear on. AFter those two light coats I followed up with 3 med-wet coats of clear and this is what it looks like right after while its still wet. Right now you can still see a small difference in the grain but block sanding will help to smooth/even it out as well as give it the traditional flat Ti finish if you like it. I like the way the polished look of the grain catches the light so I will be polishing it after.



Like I said its all wet right now, I will wetsand and polish and post pics of that later. If you get all the rust out, and put a good coat of clear over it I have not had any rust issues since.

That looks a hell of a lot better than it did.

the only real area on the bottom that is slightly different is because I did it in a bit of hurry this morning and didn't keep my lines back and forth straight. I spent a total of 20 mins sanding it, its not hard at all.

Now out of curiosity, what does everyone think about the glossy finish? I just love how it makes the grain stand out so much more and makes the writting look like it has more depth.

I have been wetsanding on them and need to update the pics. After wetsanding with 2000 grit it again looks like traditional Ti flat and also helps to blend the differences more. The little bit of difference could have been prevented if I had taken a little more time to ensure that when I sanded it down that I kept it perfectly straight back-n-forth but I was not all that concerned as this is an extra cross over I will either sell or use as an extra for just in case the two I am using does not work. The other pieces I took more time on you can't tell ANY difference in the good/bad areas.
