xs2200 left channel problem

hello im new to this forum but not pg. my question is, what would cause 1 channel to sound fine, then the other make it soound like the speaker is blown, also same sound when bridged. i did all the normal checks and changes rca's ect... it is the amp for sure. my friend gave me this amp and i had it just sittin in my closet. any imput is appreciated

try swapping the rca's or speaker wires and see if the bad speaker changes location. This will allow you narrow down if it is the amp or the speaker, or the signal fed to it.

i have already i have a modiefied hand held speaker i use to test imputs i get same distorted blown sound out of just that channel or bridged right side is fine. hmmm ok well left side is postive in bridged mode maybe something grounding it out?

so did you swap the rcas as well? If the input was bad and maybe had a nic in the cable somewhere the other speaker would sound bad as well.

yea i ran some diffrent rcas straight to amp

ok now that we know the cables are good(assuming the 2nd cable is not bad out of the box, we need to check the rest of it. IT could be a bad channel on the amp, could be a bad connection from teh amp to the speaker, or a bad speaker. swap the right and left rca. IF the bad speaker switches location, your deck as a bad output, If it remains bad in teh same spot then it could be the amp, speaker wires or the speaker. Now swap the speaker wires. Again if the bad speaker switches location, you have a bad output on your amp. If nothing happen then it could be the speaker, or the connection going to it. Now take your meter and check for shorts in the speaker wire and then test the impedence of the speaker.
