Hello viceguys.
Need a bit off help here, as stated in headline one of my amps cuts out.
And its not at very high volume " a bit, sure" but not insane
My headunit is a clarion vrx568rusb
And amp nr1 PG zx600ti zero point running alpine e-type 6"
And amp nr2 qx2350 running 12" sub unknown brand.

I hav tryed change the speaker setup around on the amps, but is always the qx that cu in and out off protection.
Then i tryed change the amp with an old blaupunkt, still the same story.
I got an display on the powerkabel, that tell the ampare that i use playing, and the amp cut of about 12A.
Plz help me any advice is more then wellcome

might be a short in the speaker wire going from the amp to the speaker. or the speaker is starting to fail. i had a simiular problem and it was a one tinsel stran from the speaker wire touching another it cuase the amp to think a dead sport and same thing went into protection about 1/4 the way up when you turned it down i would come back on

I have tryid change around the speaker setup from one amp to the other, and still fails on the same amp,
Even with the other speaker. So dont think that the problem
I was told that i shut install a capacitor, but dont belive i neef that for those 2 amps
What do u think

measure the impedance of the speakers, at the wires at the amp and confirm they are measuring correctly as you either have two bad amps or something in the wiring is causing them to shut down.

^yeah. my first thought is its a 2ohm sub. the qx and the blaupunkt are only rated for 4ohms

il tjek that in the morning, but im 99% sure that my alpine type-e is 4 ohm. and it cut out whit those to.
but il tjek it whit my mmt asap
Ok so now it just tried testing the independence on the sub and its 4 ohm.
and i tried testing the volt output on the speaker terminals on the qx

left channel 57 mV
right channel 45mV

thats not good, but can that be the cause?
Anyone got an opinion about if i need a capacitor?

I am not as concerned about the speaker as I am a short some where inbetween. Happens to everyone sooner er later.

Im 99% sure that its not a short, cause it cuts out even when i use the speakers insted of the sub, and mount the sub to the other amp. It is still rhe qx that cuts off

it could even be a short on the rca's. Check disconnect them from the deck and amp, and check them for continuity to ground.

Are you measuring 12A, or 12V?

If the amp plays fine, but then shuts down at high volumes, there is a chance its input voltage has fallen below the threshold which it will operate, and its protection circuit powers it down.

12A its a display that mountet on the fusebox, that splits the powerkabel from batterie
How can i get a voltage drop, if that is the case ?

How big is your power cable? If it is too small, you will get a big voltage drop with enough current draw, and that can shut the amp down.

The powerkabel is about 8-10mm i diameter and close to 9 feet long.
Can bad batterie or generator, be the problem

I could be wrong, but that power cable seems a bit small for running a pair of amplifiers on. Does it say what gauge the cable is on the side of the cable?

Nope no info on the kabelside, but i have found out that
It is the volt that drops, the more i turn op the volume, and under 10,5volt the amp cuts

You need a bigger power wire then. A cap will probably do you no good. If someone lets you borrow a cap, I would try it, but don't put any money into one unless it actually does make a difference.

10.5 volts!?

What kind of car is it installed in?

I have it installed in my vw golf2
Dont really think is the powerkabel, i had run more amps in other cars with smaller kabel

Can it be my batterie that is old

Try to measure the voltage at the battery, with lights & stereo on. You should see 13,5-14 volts
If not your alternator can be the problem.

That should equal 4gauge wire if 8-10mm is the measure of the copper without insulation...

if you are getting down to 10 volts you need to get your batt and alt checked I think

sorry alternator(generator maybe?) and the battery. There is no reason it should be dragging things down that much.

We have been getting alot of danes on here lately, greetings and welcome to the forum! I had a great time visiting my dads extended family across danmark years ago. Great country, even better people...

Hei.

Sjekk dynamoen først ved å måle om du har rundt 14volt når bilen går...
