CUSTOM CRACKED m25 m44 (rt66)

okay here is the deal...

and so i guess i will ask finally as i have been thinking about it for a couple weeks now...but thinking i would get to it myself... and although i still may- it would be neat/nice to see what someone else might have in store for us...

here's the story...

I have member on here that wants an M25 and M44 re-done-up and stuff.. so my buddy is working on the electrical...and guess what- my responsibility is the art and coating end.

SO the idea is to take the rte 66 OEM artwork (which i have in full) and basically (using neat software) to take that oem rte 66 artwork and snap it in half and have some kind of crack showing the separation and thus ending up with the m25 text, and some of the rte 66 art, on the m25 - with the rte 44 on the other hand having the balance of the rte66 art...

SO to give you an idea...of what i am talking about... have a look at what i came up with...

i thought it would be neat to see what others may be able to come up with ... maybe make it into a contest or something if there are enough candidates and shit... and perhaps winner gets one amp/part re-coated for free by myself... BUT thats only if there are enough ppl that think/feel that they have the ability to do such a task.

I dont really care about the format of the art... BUT ideally it would be vector (just the same as I sent you the RTE66 art)- OR photoshop, or PDf.... so long as it is useable / viable (print worthy) i am okay with it.

below is what i came up with off the cuff... BUT since the first proofing- he said (the owner of amps) said that the amps will be in a straight line when installed...and didnt really care for the sideways look like i did....so i have been meaning to edit the art- but lost the original file and just havent had the time to try again... BUT easily enough i can re-create it...plus i have it in jpg...but nonetheless... I thought I would ask out loud and see if there were any takers....

feedback?

okay so given that my email hasnt lit up with requests to receive the AI file for try-outs... albeit only a couple of hours yeah i realize that...but kinda under time crunch- BUT/SO...

Perhaps we will also treat this thread as an inside look at what it is i am able to come up with for member (not an idiot member either btw)- but to also treat this as a thread for folks to offer input, suggestions, and the like.

We (owner of amps and myself) are discussing the idea of having some mention or "indication" on the covers that it is an M25 and M44 under the hoods... so like put the OEM m25/m44 graphics in the crack somehow, or on covers in small footprint etc... and whether or not it would be too busy is a concern...but maybe could be done with finesse?

here is the crack graphics idea i have managed to come up with this morning thus far

the trouble i have is that i am (believe it or not) or have very low skills with AI...and someone that knows AI inside/out, that they would be able to come up with something really bangin'...but i just dont have the experience nor skill with AI as of yet....

Will the amps be butted up against each other in the install?

yes... and the most furthermost edge on the right of m25 and left of m44 will be right up to each other... the extra space you see in demonstration is merely for workspace area for manipulating and stuff on the canvas

m25 and m44 graphics placement on cover is questionable- by me and by buyer, so we will be adjusting that to look a lil more natural- perhaps...but this was just off cuff...but yeah butted right up to each other yes

^ thanks holmis!

Love the idea and it looks real cool so far. How about a darker contrasting color between the two amps from crack to crack. This would give the "illusion" of the broken pieces having fallen away from between the two.

^^^ not sure i clearly understand...but think i know what you mean... like i said i am not all that great with this AI stuff...but do have a buddy trying somethings out here for me locally- we'll see what he can come up with...but in mean time this is pretty much what i was able to come up with...

what say you guys...?> look okay or no?

I think what he was saying is fill in the middle making it darker so it shows depth. Kinda like a v.. Looks good though.. Id lime to see what it looks like making the middle darker.. Nice work!!

you guys realize that this is on two different / separate amps... an m44 and an m25... but they will be butted up to eachother....and so perhaps i could make it darker on the edges as it goes down the sides...BUT the crack will be right on the edge of the amp...in both cases...

it is shown as it is above merely for ease of posting...but it is two separate files that will be getting rpinted on the two amps indepandantly...

if any of that made sense...but think i understand... i could make the "inside" of crack a little darker perhaps...lm try that and see how it looks

Yes, we get that they are two amps butted. As the cracks are crack shaped, not even, rough, zig zag, and the amps have a straight edge, we are thinking to darken the parts between the two cracks that are printed on the two amps. It would look like an aerial view of a crevasse, just not as large of a scale. It would also add to the illusion that the two butted amps are not butted and the broken bits from the cracking action have fallen away.

okay, so we're moving at Godspeed here, in getting this project closer to being done...

have look and tell me what you guys think...

the idea is that OEM artwork and labels off rt66 is in darker print form... any artwork that is on m44 or m25 oem... is on the amp(s), but in a toned down display. similar to/like a silhouette version... so maybe you guys can see that clearly in the pictures (IDK), but just letting you know in case you are not able to pick up on that.

only 1 criticism, the M25 section didn't need the rca and gain pot parts printing..

looks awesome though!

No in fact you are correct...but it was actually intentional...and had been discussed both ways...but here was/is the thinking....
1st and foremost as you may not be able to tell...but they are actually like shilloutted, made a shade or two lighter on print, just b/c of that reason..but given we were so called "giving shout outs" to m25 and m44...we kinda wanted to show in fact, that hey, yeah they're are two amps, gave shout outs...and u can even see where the connections would be if it were a real independant m25.

The reasoning behind it...but when you look at it, you can clearly see that the rca print outs are much lighter (faded almost like), and kkowing its two amps, and not seeing connectors below...it kinda makes sense....

I guess right

And so in fact i didnt like the ovr, thm, pwr circles...they were slightly askew. So i redid the 25 part...and decided to run the crack down just like the 44 side did ...how it rolls down the front plate like....thats cool...so wrap around is easy enough
