Re: Octane LE serial number decipher
05081 is fo Octane LE
36705 stands for build date of 31st of December 1999
0001 is for the first amp built that day
That is a very early build date
Amp might have blue/white caps in it.

Yours was built on the 28th of June 2000! And the blue caps only indicate a very early Octane LE. I remember about an Octane LE that almost burnt up because of too old caps. So be carefull and never used it without a proper fuse upfront.

Re: Octane LE serial number decipher
anyone on this forum that does repairs and can replace the caps?
Re: Octane LE serial number decipher
I already bought the caps to do it, there was page made where someone showed how they did it on their octane. I have just been too sick/busy.

Re: Octane LE serial number decipher
Sorry to bring this up from retirement, but i was trying to figure it out for the new registry.
so I think (correct me if I am wrong) but the date code is the number of days since January 1, 1900. if thats the case then Joerg is incorrect.
36705 divided by 365 is 100.561 or 100 with remainder of 205. so the year is 2000.
subtract 25 because of 25 leap years in the 100 years, and its the 180th day of 2000.
180 - 31 (days in january) is 149
149 - 29 (days in february) is 120
120 - 31 (days in March) 89
89 - 30 (days in April) is 59
59 - 31 (days in May) is 28
So June 28, 2000, which was a Wednesday. I was kind of shocked that they would make amps on new years eve, 1999.
whats throwing me off if that for the tenth anniversary amps the date codes range from 36661 to 38883 so
36661:Monday, May 15, 2000
38883:Wednesday, June 14, 2006
did they really make 10th anniversary amps for 6 years?
