Custom VW system ideas please

Hi, I am building a modified VW van and need to think about what bits I need for it, the van itself is already part way there, lowered, debadged front, led lights, windows cut in, 19'' rims on stretch rubber, bulkhead removed, dynamatted, smoothed runner blank, and lots of mods ongoing like bespoke bodykit. Pics if anyone is interested. I have had PG gear since the early 90s mainly pretty straight forward passive systems, M25 running comps, ZX450 comps and single sub etc.
I have been nosing at the audio bits I need to find over time to build the system for it. So far I have an Alpine CDA-9886R head unit and a minty white ZX350v2 running Focal Polyglass 165v30 6.5'' components in front door builds. I would love an Octane LE (dont even know the specs on one though so may not run the system) so the plan is to add two 12'' subs and suitable amplifaction to get a working complete system that can evolve from there.
So any ideas on the system plans guys? I like the look of the white DD5 I spotted in someones collection, how do you incorporate these? do you need a line driver or TBAT for them? Basscube? ZX500 maybe to match what I have! will it run two 12''s? Elite/RSD/Ti subs? what voicecoils? Powercore? Caps? Focals arent great but will have to do for now up front. Probably will have a split charge system eventually as we use the van for camping at surf spots and VW shows.
I really appreciate any input on this one and any gear up for grabs that will fit with suggested plans.
Great to have a site to share this PG love

What year is your van? If you really like this site, you have to put up some pics in the automotive section, hehehe....

there is no white DD5 or 10 unless it was custom painted.. The 5 comes in a crinkle black powder to match the tantrum series and the 10 was a Ti finish which is brushed steel with a flat clear over it. They are easy to use, just run power/gound to it and then from there you can power all your accesories. I hope to have hold of a NIB 5 by the end of next week. If you are intersted send me a pm and we can work a deal out.

Ohhh, I was hoping for a 60s bus with some modern wheels and slammed, hehehe. I love the old school busses and bugs and can imagine what I'd do with all M-series or MS series on display and in use. Anyway, post some pics of the ride as pics are always welcome in forums...

Sick!!! I wish the US would have kept the Eurovan.
Are those TSW Holstens? Nice wheels!!!
You are going to need more Dynamat or equivalent. There are some small company sound deadeners that produce better results for less money unless you are commited to Dynamat brand.
The ZX series amps are great for SQ and daily beats. Just make sure the caps have been replaced so that they do not self destruct
As for Subs. SSA gets my vote for new. But there are many subwoofers out there that will do an excellent job for you depending on your goals.
Please keep a build log going here as it looks to be an excellent build up!

Nicely done on the front air dam. Good poke and stretch! (it is Vortex worthy)
... I myself need some coilovers to get low
I am going to hit you with a PM.

Okay correct me if I am wrong but from reading threads on here it seems the ti amps dont suffer the dreaded caps problem that the ZX series do, so I am going to start the search based on a loose idea of ... ti400 to run componants up front, matching larger ti amp (no idea yet which one) to run a pair of 12'' subs in tha back (no idea on voice coils required, twin 4Ohms etc,how to wire?) and hopefully some nice extras, powercore, dd5 or 10 (not sure which I will need) RMDs, basscube ... any ideas?
Means i will have a very minty ZX350v2 boxed with all paperwork up for grabs when I can source some bits to make a start.
Okay back to the bespoke bumpers for now until I find new toys to play with.

Sweet build, love the van. Stretching the tires makes me nervous.

Bigger wire is needed and probably a better ground.
What you have now is not alot of power. Have you looked into a
a HO alt?

lmfao, thats what I was thinking...
Squared and same height sidewalls front and back with same wheel gap spacing is where it's at... not some cheap ass tires that dont fit on the wheels.

The way I drive those damn tires would peel off the rim the first time you hit a turn at high speed.

kg1961,
Good morning. I drove a 1984 mk1 or Rabbit GTI for a couple of years during college in the mid 90s. It was black with the blue interior. Unfortunately, the engine died to the point where it wasn't worth fixing, at least to us.
About a year ago somewhere in Kentucky, a pristine 1983 GTI with only 25,000 miles sold on Ebay for almost $12,000!

Quick update, the bumpers I built were sold after I was made an offer I couldnt refuse so I set about building a new set using parts of an Audi A4 and came out like this
Then made some skirts out of four Honda Accord ones I found in a scrap yard
Rear bumper I smooothed out the lights in the bumper and blended in a VW passat lower and this is how she looked from behind
Add to that a few subtle panel modifications and put it all together and the outside is now looking sweet, will sit lower when the inside gets built, no time to do that just yet though.
Rims
Down my local to find the surf all blown out
