Wow, I really like the plexi covering on standoffs over your EQ marko!

I should be getting mine somewhat soon, then I RTA with Tom and post the curve.

I'd post a pic of mine, but I can't get a good pic. It's in the HU. I'll go out and write it down tomorrow. Draw a pic then post it.

Finally got to do some work on mine. Just worked on the RTA curve. Still needs some tweaking. I also got an IASCA disc, so the SQ curve will be done in the next couple days.
Im getting closer

I think its time to deaden the doors so I can lay off the midbass area

Generally a flat curve like that sounds like donkey.... Generally it should not look that flat unless you are going for a flat RTA score.... If you listen to my car in "SQ" mode and then in "RTA" mode, you would be massively suprised... and SQ is NOT flat...

Yeah, that was my RTA curve. The SQ is WAY different, but no where near finished yet. I should have it sometime next weekend.

How would you recommend setting a 30 band EQ for SQ if not by RTA and finding a flat response? Not challenging you or anything, I just want to know as I am inquisitive and I want the best SQ from my system as possible.

its not rocket science....RTAing your system to perform flat will give you the best true sound quality as your system will be able to reproduce the original track as best as possible. Does this means you'll like the sound of it? Maybe, maybe not. Is it okay your prefer a not flat curve...yes, tune to what you like.

Yeah, I thought that might be what Ben was getting at but I was confused by his use of the word "SQ" because I, for whatever reason, assumed SQ to be something absolute, not a preference.

Hehe.

Would starting out with a flat response by RTA and then going by ear after that for tuning sound like a decent way to go about it all? I think just doing 30 bands right by ear is a bit daunting for me...

thats how I do it. From the flat I will start adding/removing until I find what I like. I find it is a good refrence point to start from.
