Its freakin storming outside.....
LAst night when we got finished with the hookup of all my shit we ran into an issue. 9pm, nothing open and I lost the nut for my power power cable from my battery. Amazingly enough I managed to grab one from BB just before it closed. Its to long. I need to get a nut for my old one, so I rig it up with a washer. Then I pop my bosch relay.. Done for the night I decide to get up early. Help my wife set up for a yard sale and work on the car.
Its freakin storming. The garage is unusable and my car is in pieces
A haiku
Its raining outside
My car is in pieces, sigh
I have no garage

how did you pop the relay? Never heard of that before but I always fuse them correctly to protect them and the gear they turn on. We had a BIG storm move in early this morning that shook the house with thunder and woke everyone up and it has not stopped raining yet.
The garage is your territory, tell the wife to go back to hers and quit crappin yours up. Put yer foot down, demand that she clean up her mess and that should be all it takes.
can't tell I am single huh?

Let me rephrase. I tried to wire it up at twilight and and had something reversed and it no longer works. I bypassed it and all my stuff still works but I cant run my amps without fans, I need a relay.
I can tell very well you arent married

sure you had it wired correctly? Not sure how you could wire it up and pop it. With all the relays I have wired over the years I would have done it by now myself

.
Touch power/ground to pins 85 and 86(doesn't matter which is which) and see if it makes a clicking noise.
happily single too although I am meetin up with a girl I have not seen in a decade tonight.

Well, it can matter if the relay has a diode built in across the coil.
Always hook negative to pin 85 and positive to 86, as stated in the MECP basic handbook.
Was helping rewire a 54 chevy, custom fuse/relay panel. My buddy got it all hooked up and was wondering why fuses were popping. He couldn't figure it out so he told me to see what was up, relays had diodes in them and the coils were wire backwards (creating a direct short). I think he learned a lesson from that.
Know all to well about not having a garage to work in...I hate the rain because of it. Was working on my exhaust a while back and it started to pour....working on my exhaust in a puddle....ugh. Snow I can deal with.

thats true but the only time I have seen the diode in there was in car alarms/remote starts.
