i have a summer car a 1992 nissan nx2000 2 door hatch back with t tops
now i can't really spend any money on new gear so i need to make some choices with what i have
the car came with a sony cd player mp3 with sub out if needed
now the gear
i have a set of front 51/4 mid tweeter need 25-100rms
subs i have 4 older mb quart 8" subs (6ohm)rated at 100w rms .5cub sealed (thanks ttocs)
now for the amps
all older ppi 1997-2000 pc amps
pc225
pc2100
pc450(thanks eric d)
and pc 6600.2 (pc650)(thanks itchi)
i just want some bass nothing crazy as this car is super small.
if i use the 6600.2 i don't have rca sub control but i do own a qbass knob so same thing
im thinking 2 8" subs will run fine off the 50-100 each one will get if i bridge the channel 5-6 use channels 1-2 for the front and 3-4 for some rear fill turned way down
or
use the pc2100 stereo with all 4 subs and the 225 for front and for get rear fill or use the 450 and add rear fill.
the rear hatch it tinted but no cover so a false floor will be needed
let me know what you think
the only other thing i own is a pg bass cube and remote but i didn't think this would be that good on 8" and sealed boxes

any other idea with that i own
thanks

I would employ the KISS rule and go with option 1. I too, am doing the wifes car where space is limited and hi output is of no need. I was going a bit "out there", but have once again decided to not do the all out system I was planning. 1 amp in both our cases would be "keeping it simple" for stupid. (KISS) I have gone back and forth just because I WANT to use my Clarion DRX8275R/DPH9100 combo, but it would require to much for what I have in the way of guidelines/restrictions.

I'm guilty of it too, but I tend to way over think things. I think that if you took the time, you'll find what's right for you and your desires for the outcome.

ya know I have ran a system with 2 8's but was just never really happy with them. The 4 8s though were suprisingly full though and gave me alot of enjoyment.

I can't speak for these 8's, but 2 Sundown Audio sa-8's in a ported box are some of the best I've heard. Don't know how they compare though.

when I had them playing I had them seperated so two woofers were in each enclosure(2 enclosures for 4 woofers total) and I think they were in a total of .4 cu ft each approx. I would have rated them close to my diamond 10 in my truck but I also did use a cube to help tune them. Not sure I would have a system anymore with out the bass cube as I have grown so accostomed to adding some here/there while I drive to suit what I want.

so i think i will use the pc2100 100x2 4ohm 200x2 2ohm stereo with the Q bass knob i can adjust the points like a bass cube so i will play with that
also i will use my nib pc 225 25X2 for 51/4' mids and tweeter
this should be more than i need

Yep, the KISS method.

That's what I did today in the wife car. My old Eclipse CD8455 HU, the internal amp powering the 4 corners, a Lanzar Opti150 powering a single PG XS104 sub.
