Which PG amps are best for SQ? I have already accumulated several of the Titanium Zeropoints and have noticed that several people are using the MS series amps in their setups. The system that i am putting together will be in a competition vehicle that will be driven on a daily basis and the system will be totally active. i listen to a lot of different music, but mostly jazz. All input is appreciated. Thanks.

Good morning. Unfortunately, I can't answer your question, only because my PG experience is limited to the, in my opinion, wonderful SQ of my M44 and M25. However, I think it is a testament to the quality of the MS series amps (and PG equipment in general) that people still turn to so-called "old-school" amps for their SQ setup.

So, having never heard or used them, my somewhat-educated guess is that the Titanium series would be terrific SQ amps.

I have looked at those amps swell as the MPS. I have also read depending on the setup and ohm load that they can go into protect mode due to heat dissipation. I know that fan are made for the amps you have, but they can be scarce.

Here's a little more info about the system:

Front stage: small tweeter& midrange for center stage
1" dome tweeters ( located in a pillars)
4" midrange ( dash or door panel)
7" mid-bass (2 in each door)
12" shallow subs x 2 ( mounted behind the rear seats in a sealed enclosure)
No rear-fill is planed for now

Titaniums are great. All of the top of the line PG amps have the same sound in my experience. The MS series are good too, but a little dated. They don't have the built in processing power that the Ti series has, so you have to run all external crossovers, etc.

All the high end PG's use a very similar output stage.

so m/ms/zpa/zx/ti/xenon should all sound very similar when gain matched.

you can't really go wrong!

One thing to think about is availability. The ms2250s people don't sell very often. But finding the big titaniums are a lot easier.

Not trying to start a flame war here, but assuming you're running the amp below clipping there should be no audible difference between ANY amp of the same class.

I would... Best sq car I've done was a 90 saleen with a franknamp running 2 sets of 5 inch hd cdts passive and 2 12w6s in stereo. Had a ms275 run an extra set of 6 inch hds in the kickpanels passive with tweets in dash aimed at glass... I love ti gear but when u crank the piss out of it it gets weak or flat... The ms has non regulated power supplies and doent lean out till it hard clips... The ms is much louder imo amp for amp. Watt for watt..

With top of the line triple darlington PG amps crap sounds like crap but good recordings sound reeeally good. I have found this to be the "downside" of my M50.
