Everyone has a favorite song that they like to listen to in thier rides . What songs do you think sound the best ? Is there a song you use for a reference and why ?

"no ordinary love" just listen to the tempo and beat.
"slaves song" its very solid bass line is hard for most systems to replicate especially the drums.
"cherish the day" its just beautiful.

Fear Factory - Edge Crusher - great bass and midrange extension to test ur subs and mids.
The Eagles - Hotel California - Just an all-around great song.
Nevermore - Evolution 169 - Great for mids and that tight punchy Metal bass.

These are just to name a few, but to each their own.

Seriously though.. Sade is one of my favorites for "enjoyable" critical listening.

I also have to admit.... Miceal Jackson (80's to early 90's stuff) is at the top of my list as well... ok "the cat's out of the bag" now For those not "in the know", MJ has had some of the best recording studios EVER!

I listen to all sorts of music except country. I like nice clean tracks, but I like to be loud too. So here's my list:

Hey Man Nice Shot by Filter. Great drums and Bass guitar

Wonderful by Everclear. Very crisp and clean song with good even mix of guitars, vocals, and drums

Breathe Into Me by Red. Hard rock for when you want to be loud.

All We Are by Fischerspooner. Very clean track with good kick bass and good to test out mids.

Count on Me by Gorilla Zoe. Good to test out mids and has a great low end drop for the subs. Gansta Rap.

Lying From You by Linkin Park. Great hard rock song, with a good bass drop.

The New Reign by Born of Osiris. Great drums and double bass. Screaming Metal.

Island In the Sun and Say It Ain't So by Weezer. Great clean rock tracks.

That's What's Up by Yo Gottie. Gansta rap but has good bass for subs.

I'm new here and I would like to say hi and I'm quoting to
what was said by MW3 that no one should bash a system
without hearing or seeing it. I could'nt put it in better words.
I see allot of that in forums. Anyway I also like to add that I
repair amps and have over 16 years experience and 2 degrees
in electronics. So I'm sure as in all forums that allot of people
have a certain person that helps everyone or several people to
help out. I just wanna say hey to everyone and if someone needs
help with an amp or a question, I'm here to help and get help. I have
been getting allot of PG amps in from a new customer and I have 2 of his
PG ZPA 0.5 amps. If anyone is knowledgable with repairing these amps, let
me know. I have a couple questions. You can never stop learning even if you
know some things.

There's to much out there for me to have just a few.

I use Tori Amos for most of my tweaking SQ needs. Very cleanly recorded, very dynamic original sound.

There's certain sounds I love to hear by some groups in stereo,
to many songs from Killswitch Engage
Chimaira's SP Lit
James Blunt is very cleanly recorded
Dire Straights' Brothers in arms album
A few Hatebreed songs
Type O' Negative's Rusted Root album
Some Linkin Park



Like I said, way to many for me to even remember.

For sound quality (and a shocking amount of bass!), Michael Jackson's "Best Of" CD is really amazing. Checkout track 2, "The Way You Make Me Feel". Not only is the sound quality very good, but the bass is ridiculous. Also, "Thriller" sounds incredible for an old recording.

"Hotel California" from the "Hell Freezes Over" is incredible. Actually, that whole CD is a terrific recording. (Try not to cry during "Wasted Time".)

Norah Jones' entire first CD is an awesome example of a sound quality recording.

Miles Davis' "Kind of Blue" CD is really good too. It's the kind of recording where one instrument is often only present in one speaker.

Nine Inch Nails "Head Like a Hole" really hammers.

And last but not least: The entire "And Justice For All" CD from Metallica. Turn up your LPL44 on "Shortest Straw". That kick drum is absolutely crazy!
