So I was wondering if anyone has experience with using an amp as a 110 volt power supply? I realize they function in a similar manner but the amp would need a 60hz continuous signal. Any input would be much appreciated.

It is possible. As long as the load presented to the amp is not too low.
I remember back in the day, when Rockford released their Power 500.2 at CES, they used the amp to run a blender and made smoothies for everyone!

During a Rockford demo I watched a rep use a Punch 800a2 to power a jigsaw in the board room of the Rockford facility I was at, and then use the same Punch 800a2 to power a vacuum to clean up the mess he made. I do know he had to run it well into clipping to get the needed voltage, but both appliances still worked seemingly fine.

I really was thinking of using a few amps I have laying around and make a outlet bank to plug in things like my laptop, phones, printer, hard drive, etc. I appreciate the offer Todd but I was just thinking of making something out of what I have for fun. If I get it set up I'll keep you guys posted.

I used to run a jigsaw with one of my 2125's for people at the install shop, I did it alot ..... thinking back I am not sure if it was the best thing to do but those amps never let me down.
Lost 1 to a sunken car in a lake and the other was given to a buddy.

Powering the things you mention would not require a large inverter.
An audio amplifier would be best used for what it's meant to do...but that's just me.

Feeding the PWM controller with a music signal (not as simple as it sounds).
