ZX500

Will this amp handle 1.5 ohms bridged? I know it is only rated for 2 but I could swear the one I had back in high school was wired for 1.5 and it was stable and slammed!

i dont think you will fry it but it may thermal after a few minutes. have you changed the caps in it? also what kind of power were you expecting to get out of it at 1.5 ohms.

It's actually getting the caps replaced right now. But I decided to use it for my midbass instead at 4 ohms and sell some of the SS reference amps I have collecting dust to buy a Rockford P700-1bd. I will have 2 SS class A 6.0's and this ZX500 on my circuit already. Figured it would be a good idea to get a more efficiant class D on my subs.
