I have 3 rockford punch dvc 12s that will end up at 1.3ohms OR 2 pg rs124 subs that will be 8 or 2 ohms each? not sure .. I would buy another pg rs124 is they are better than the rockfords ? are they??

now the amp to run them, I have a pg r500.1 or m100 or roadster 66 or 2125 if I can fix one from the 3.. I would think the roadster is the way to go but the 500.1 is what I would like to use.

willl the roadster or 500.1 do 1.3ohm or the 3 rs124 end up being 2.6 or .6 .......

what would you do?

The Punch DVC subs were great when they first came out, but by today's standards they are not very good at all. When everyone went to fat roll surrounds, the distortion of the subwoofers decreased significantly. Plus you typically gain more output.

A trio of Punch HE subs, or better yet HE2s would be far better than the older DVCs. Even the Power DVCs were not all that great compared to cheaper subs of just a few years later.

Which Punch DVC's are you referring to? If it is indeed the first gen DVC's I believe you are referring to, then you're looking at @ 2.66 ohm (for all three) and not 1.33.

I have never run the RS124 subs you are referring to, so I couldn't give you a side by side comparison, but those Punch DVC's are a VERY nice subwoofer! I don't care how old they are, if they're in good shape, I would certainly run them! I ran a trio of those back in the day as well and they were pretty nutty even with only 600w'ish driving them. Driver technology hasn't changed dramatically over the past couple of decades. Sure their have been improvements here and there, most of which has been focused on power handling and increased excursion, but you also have to compare apples to apples when referring older drivers with newer ones. I actually prefer the older RF DVC and POWER series subs like you have over their newer gen stuff. So long story short, if I were in your shoes, I would run the Punch DVC's since you already have them and assuming they're in good shape. If you don't....... I'll buy em

Checked out the vid... Seems like you want some CRAZY output! Sounds like you need some 15/18's with some serious power!

If the price is right, I would buy the Punch DVC's

I think shipping would be more than the subs are worth..
