Running the m44 @ 2 ohms

Has anyone done this yet? Thinking about getting 2 pairs of 2 ohm coaxes to run off this thing, has anyone ran this at 2ohms over the long haul? I had the caps replaced, and everything a few years back. The only reason I ask is because this amp just runs warm by nature. It has never failed me though, this is probably my fav amp. I wouldnt mind to get that 80x4 out of this thing.

The amp is rated for 2 ohms by 4 last I knew. I see no reason why you would have any issue, but you will need some space around the amp so it can get air to breathe. M amps tend to run a lot hotter than others.

I have been using my M44 with 6 ohm full range on the front and 2ohm stereo on subs for the rear. There is a post on this forum about not doing that exact thing. So, you may want a more balanced load. I personally don't think it is as big an issue unless you try to get loud and push the M44 to the limits.
