The wife finally said the magic words!!
"I think its time to put a system into the Rav4"!
So, I'm thinking something simple(ish). A Pioneer HU (Double din) with sirius sat box. A small footprint 4 or 5 channel amp (front comps on two channels and sub on bridged on rears), possibly Alpine. Front comps (passive x-overs), need suggestions. And finally a single sub, 12" or 10", in a sealed box, possibly the RSDC I have sitting here or something else.
I'm looking for suggestions on all fronts. I have been "out of the game" for a few years so I imagine I am light years behind on what is out there. The only thing I am really stuck on is the Pioneer HU. I have been running Pioneer for years now and I am used to the controls. More importantly the wife is used to the controls. Everything else I am open to suggestions! Budget is an issue, but I will not skimp on this stuff (as always). Used gear that is still in great shape is always an option!
Thanks in advance for any opinions. Here's to building a system again!!!

Stock is 5 1/4" but I'm sure I can fit 6 1/2" with a little elbow grease.

What about that new little PG 5 channel? Should be enough power for her needs.

I too am coinsidering going with the 800.5 for my Escape but I haven't even seen one here intown yet nor have ready anybody around here using it. I've heard lots of good things about the JL XD/HD mini's though and have seen them installed in afew cars. Far as I've heard from my installer buddy, the Rockford minis are more popular than the JL's but they are about the same cost wise. His opinions lead me to believe that the JL's are better but that Fosgate make a good product that holds its own.
The Escape might be all JL if I can swing it.
