Polished MS 250... Anyone know about these?

Post by smcdr »

I bought two of these polished 250s off of Ebay in about 1996. Supposedly the guy I bought these from had some type of relationship with PG. I'm just wondering if anyone knows anything about them like how many were made? Well, I tried to attatch a couple of pics., but I can't seem to make them show up....

They are definitely polished. I almost wish they were nickel. They scratch way too easily. I just took the one I actually used out of the car and it took me about 8 hrs. to get it looking like new again.

if he had people at pg he would have had the ends done to match.

Todd, Thank you for posting the pics. for me. I very much appreciate it.

As for the comment on why the ends aren't polished also... They're steel. I suppose they could have been chromed, but everyone knows chrome doesn't match polished aluminum very well.

hard to say from pics, but almost looks as though it is essentially a non-coated sink...
just straight extrude, naked al....

kinda like this (the stripped 2250 sink i did to make the cousin)

if pg had played a part in making that amp what it is today, the ends would have been re-screened it would have matched in some way. Looks to me like someone stripped it and painted the ends themselfs, doesn't look all that bad and certainly opens up options for a cool custom amp.

think/bet i have some end plates in aluminum that would be a good match, then i could put art/text/labe,ls on it and clear it with a semiclear and bet it would be a good/decent/close match anyways. to make it look a lil more "complete"/oem.

in case youre interested.

I highly doubt that amp is OEM.

Here is what my MS2125 heat sink looked like after I had the paint chemically stripped from it...

Very similar if you ask me. As for the ends, that can be done with spray paint.
