Ask zfactor either here or over on diy. He seems to have a lot of experience with them.

they are a little bigger then the PDX tho....only thinking about them because they are so small they can fit on the rear self w/ the two 15" IDWs neos I have coming :D :D :D

a jl 1000/1 will smoke it

i have isntalled them and yeah for the size they are powerful

my thing is they dont sound very warm. i ran two type r 15s
with it and yeah it slammed

but we compared it to a jl1000.1 and it was louder and sounded better on low end, but dont get me wrong if space is what you need that amp will
hammer.

the PDX are all Class D rite ...
would they be able to compare with a good class A/b amps in terms of sound quality ??

probably technolgy has improved so much but wouldnt class D switching cause much noise within the amp , and as far as i know that's the reason it has always stayed on sub amplification since those noise are not audible there.

correct me if i'm wrong guys.... :hmm:

Your right they are D full bandwidth class type amplifiers but they use the newer chip-sets that are available and seem to have a much better SQ then other class D amps at least thats the word around here from my client's. everybody says they sound good.
I have to admit I have been looking at them also to see what all the hub-bub was about. Their V-12 amps <last years model> used similar chips, But the case styling was more car amp oriented, and the new case has the look of High end about them. Oh class T I think is a Tripath label as I see few others use that letter..

the only amp they made that sounded really good using any other
class then a/b was the mrd-f752.

other then that the pdx amp sounds okay and has good ouput for its size and yeah its a nice looking amp.

i would prefer other amps over it in teh same power class.

They are using one of the newer Tripath plcc chips I guess, and with Tripath in chapter 11 that might not be such a good idea. remember the Tantrum 1200.1 fiasco ? Nice amp, just no more parts available.....if it breaks its a door stop now. I know I have one I can't get parts for and so does Wakeup here on the forum.

The older alpines were using ST chip-sets, and somebody else, but I have not seem the Tripath chip-set in them Yet> and I just saw a 1000.1 two weeks ago. The amp is so new around here I have only seem a few.

Don't get me wrong Tripath makes OK products, if they would just support them better and stay out of Chapter 11 bankruptcy court, I would be duly impressed with them again. But after getting Burned on a tantrum, its once bitten twice shy, ya know?

very true .....
i really wish they would steer their way out of the mess fast and come up with more revolutionary products.... class T was one....
