Phoenix Gold Phorum

I recently purchased this Tantrum 500.2 off of Ebay.
When I received it I heard something rattling around inside the amp.
I opened it up to find one of the resistors floating around.
It looked like a bad solder from the factory.
I fixed it and everything seems fine.
I am just wondering if this amp would have been working properly without it in place ?
Would it have done damage using the amp without it in place ?
It is left one of the resistors that are soldered together at R250

It is.
I opened up one of my other 500.2's and it also has 2 resistors like this.
This is a USA made amp. When did the move Tantrum production O.S. ?
My other 2 do not have the made in USA stamp.

I had a 500.2 like that as well. It is like a load from internal ground to the output of the transistors or from speaker + to speaker -. Without it in place, you'll get a little shock if you were playing music without a speaker hooked up and you touched the pos and neg speaker terminals. Just match the wattage and resistance. I believe the resistance value is weird and you need to use 2 common values to make the one.

One thing I would like to know is what the output circuit is called as all the output transistors are the same, as in no complimentary pairs...???

surprisingly, i've seen that in a few different pg amps.
