One thing I noted other then the test report was how it has a 12 inch convention sub rated at 250w.

Man I miss the days when it didnt take 10000w to properly drive a sub.

I have another article on the PG Cylcone as well, if I have a chance I will post it up, it was in the Sep/Oct 1996 of Car Stereo Review.

I still have mine. I blew it and haven't been able to throw it away. The paddles are (were?) fine, but I melted the VC. It didn't completely blow, but is scratchy sounding from the VC rubbing...

I had the cyclone and four 8" subs in a Pontiac Grand Am GT coupe. Nothing has hit like it since. I kinda miss it; but am certain my next setup will blow everything I've ever had away in both SQ and SPL.

hmmm....ya i wouldn't throw mine away if it blew as well. Have you tried contacting PG to see if they may have a way to fix/repair it? Worth a shot on a great piece of PG history!

No, I haven't contacted them. I once heard it was way to expensive to bother with, so I have kept it for showing off every once in a while.

I seem to recall you only need an M25 on them!

Perhaps the old trick of M25 > ZPA 0.5 might be slight overkill

Did you inquire about that 5kw figure yet Marko?

Can i come into this thread

Paul your steeling my thunder. M25>zpa 0.5 = 5000watts. Why do you think there was no fuse in the amp? Oh yeah cyclone! or should i say 2. KUB has seen the evidence of 1. Funnily enough from canada. Second BNIB from the UK. Yep 2 off a soundstream reference 500 infinite baffle.

Marko, i will shout you and KUB as soon as its done. Anyone on this forum hear the 4 in the PG van in the states in 96. Man that was serious low bass. Or anyone hear the prototype larry fred took around.

Oh well, should be a giggle. Watching the faces of the new school when they see them?

Wish I had... But I was only a sophomore in HS at that time...

I got my cyclone in 2001 I think. Picked it up practically new for only $300. It lasted about a year. The replacement when I fried the VC was a 12" Earthquake BALLS. While it didn't hit as low, it hit nearly as hard, and sounded cleaner. That sub isn't made anymore either. Still have it too, somewhere.

Those were the days. Haven't had a good system since b/c of $. One is in the works though, finally.
