May be someone has asked this before but ...

Is X600.1 fan booting up when amp is turned on (just like X100.4 or X200.4)? Is the fan on only when the amp is hot in this case?

Note: I have never heard the fan is on for entire CD. However,
I heard clicking noise (almost "ringing" I would say) from RELAY ILOSAM IRQ-1A-D12S when bass hits deep. This class D amp is different from A/B I use to hear on X200.4 or X100.4.

Is this normal?

If you hear ringing, it may be the transformers vibrating. You can mask this by hot gluing everything, though that doesn't look very nice.

Yeah, the "ringing" is either from the two transformers or relay. Not quite sure.

What products to use for hot glue-ing?
Is there any effect on transformer to dissipate the heat itself?
Is 2nd tie wrap an option? (may involve in drilling the PCB).

AFAIK PG and many other brands use hot glue for a fix on ringing transformers... not sure if there is a specific type or method of doing so however. I'm sure one of our more experienced repair guys can help you better than I can

The wire is wound around the former, then the whole assembly is dipped in lacquer. In the case of a ringing transformer the lacquer dip has been doen improperly or the unit has been impacted or vibrated to the point that the coating has separated. Essentially hot glue needs to be fed into the wire gaps to hole the wire to the former so that the former doesn't shift about.

You can use epoxy, silicone or a variety of other materials but hot glue is the easiest.

Is there anyone out there willing to open up your amp cover
and verify that what I am hearing (ringing sound) is bad transformer
i.e. bad amp?

What do you want a pic of the internals? I'm pulling one of mine out sometime this weekend. I can snap a pic of the inside if someone hasn't beaten me to it.

NO, I want no pictures of transformers.
What I would like to know is:
a. open your X600.1 cover
b. hook the amp up and play music (preferable with some deep bass, occasionally)
c. With this occasional deep bass, now hear if there is any ringing sound coming from your two output transformers.
d. LMK if there is any ringing sound.

If the lacquer is intact it will not ring, I personally use an X600.1 myself. Hot glue is a viable fix for the ringing.

Can I use Conformal Coating material (cured by UV light to make it harden) i.e. Dymax Ultra Fast Engineering Adhessive 9-20557-LV?

Or is this adhesive not thick enough to prevent ringing?

You can use any thick adhesive you may want, but the main reason I suggest hot glue is the fact that it is easily removed if you don't get it right the first time.
