I personally really like those amps, but sadly have never had a chance to see one in person. From photos their build looks to be top notch. I would be shocked if they sounded bad, but I have heard some bad sounding amps before.

I grabbed one off of Ebay.
The guy was local so we met to exchange.
Here is a gut shoot.
It sure looks legit.
The power and speaker connectors appear to be gold plated copper. not brass

Any thoughts on Helix amps ?

I was using a pair of Helix 8" woofers in the front for midrange/midbass. They were very clear and I should not have let them go. At 75 watts to a dual 4 ohm 8", they easily overpowered my components and were clean sounding. I've been trying to get that sound back, but I may have the wrong components up front.

If their German made amps are like that small taste of sound from those German made 8s, I think you'll be quite satisfied.

They´re built from Auditec Fischer. The same firm is doing Brax. They offer four lines of amps. Helix Blue, Helix Esprit, Helix Precision, Helix Competition.

I owned a few of them and am very pleased with how they sound. Also very flexible when it comes to input-voltage, bridged/mono operation, and active crossover capabilities.
The bigger mono blocks have everything adjustable, even damping factor, slope of active crossovers, bandpass settings etc.
Nice big connectors for larger diametre cables, and nice optics.
Only concern would be...sink cooling capacity since they're just SMALL [as in flat]. When pushed to deliver their max. output I'd say they will become very hot and shut down. Never tried that, but they do get hot from normal use already.
Excellent for composets, not recommended for sub-duties IMO.
My 2 cnts.

Nico got me my 5 channel :D

I still haven't listened to it... I really ought to, but the Ti500.4 fits my install too nicely.

I've always been interested in trying one of these amps also, but I see a lot turn up on eBay.de as faulty and wanting repair.. not sure if this is just coincidence but it sends out the wrong messages for me

Because of their super-compact size, people tend to install them in places the amp does not receive any cooling, or they mount the amp straight to a subwoofer cabinet. I've seen this many times and these amps with their crossover-boards standing upright inside the amp just can't take that sort of abuse.
When mounted properly they will last for years IMO. [ofcourse I still prefer the old MS amps, that goes without saying... ]
