...(for 1982) equipment from an old 1982 issue of Autoweek.

The top unit appears to be cassette or 8-track player, the bottom component looks like an EQ, the second from the bottom appears to a CB, and I can't figure out what the thing under the cassette player is. Dig the pull-out rack style handles.

Any idea what the car is? Maybe a Benz or Bimmer.

A double, double din or a Quad din?

Wander what the cost was back then?

I remember in the late 80s, my cousins had the Pioneer components similar to those in the pic. You could stack them and they got power from the "DIN plug" (I think it was called). So they would put the tuner, cassette 4 and 8 track, eq and level meter that looked like windshield wipers in an enclosure and take it out of the car while it was playing. I think the power came from the amp. I was like 14 and repairing all their cables from them moving the stereo around so much...

House speakers and humongous Pioneer amps were top of the line at that time, hehehe....

Those things at the bottom are the amps...pretty cool. Cassette deck, AM/FM tuner, master volume/equalizer, amps.

not sure I agree amps back then were not that small, probably just some dancing lights of some sort is my guess. Signal analyzer of sorts.

well I'll be.... For amps in the 80's a din-sized amp is itty bitty.

Here's an old ebay auction, has better pictures of the components.

Nice! I'm impressed you were able to find those awesome pictures.

It looks like one component alone won't work without the others.
