Phoenix Gold @ CES 2012
A few pics I snapped of the new gear while visiting the AAMP booth. Sorry for the pic quality, an iphone had to fill in for the Nikon that didn't make it to the show! Didn't get a chance to chat with Morgan or quality seat time in the Elite Cayenne, but that's a good thing for PG! They were pretty busy the few times I came by throughout the afternoon.
Didn't post much of the amps, as Morgan has much higher quality images already posted in the Elite sneak peak thread.

Its a special version of "LPL" that comes with every Elite amp.stipud wrote:Oooh! LPL with clip lights ??? Or is that just bass boost ?

Yes it has clipping indicators on the remote.
No it cant be modded to work with normal amps that have the LPL port.

where is your imagination dude?
what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.
Re: Phoenix Gold @ CES 2012
That's genius! I love using my LPL to bump the gains when the bass recording level or volume is low, but I have no clipping reference other than my ears. I've been wondering why people haven't done this for years!MW3 wrote:Its a special version of "LPL" that comes with every Elite amp.stipud wrote:Oooh! LPL with clip lights ??? It's physically impossible, sadly. Well, without scratch building some new parts in the amp at leastttocs wrote:MW3 wrote:No it cant be modded to work with normal amps that have the LPL port.

Re: Phoenix Gold @ CES 2012
Ahh makes sense I have never been in person with a ti so that would explain that
Re: Phoenix Gold @ CES 2012
Correct, two inputs are for the Voice Coils. There is a third smaller terminal that is clearly labeled LEDs.
Amps are completed, will arrive in USA end of this month.
Speakers are in production more news to follow.

Re: Phoenix Gold @ CES 2012
That is a good question.
Re: Phoenix Gold @ CES 2012
Small, high end contract manufacture in Korea.
They have 5 workers on the production line. Each with about 5 to 15 years experience assembling and testing amplifiers.
We have not ruled out making some amplifiers in the USA in the future, as USA is becoming more competitive compared to Asia when it comes to mid to higher quality items.
But for now Korea a great option on quality and manufacturing experience for complex amplifiers.

If Koreans are half as good at building amps as they are to playing Starcraft, we'll be in good hands.

Re: Phoenix Gold @ CES 2012
The direct answer is it really depends on our Canadian Dist Gentec.
If you want something bad enough I am sure we can probably make something happen.

Re: Phoenix Gold @ CES 2012
Thanks, unfortunately for me the nearest dealer is about 1500 miles away for a demo but things change and I'm sure I will manage with my meager stash I have for now till I can get a few of the new ones in my hands to check them out in person
apparently Gentec doesn't list any dealers east of Saskatchewan? thats almost half the country not serviced
