IASCA questions

Finally there is going to be an IASCA SQ event around for me to go to. I was thinking of competing, more so for the professional critique and experiences I can gain.

I think that I have several problems. The first is that I do not have any photographs of the entire build up process. "Competitors must present photographs of (or physical access to) fuses for in-dash equipment." Also, I must be able to replace this in 5 minutes. Both present a problem for me. The CD player uses the stock inline fuse, but I dont have pictures. To replace the fuse, I have to take apart the entire dash board, which requires mroe than 5 minutes. "All Terminations and Terminals must be accessible by the Judge." There are several in the trunk that are not accessible, and require extensive removal of the trunk equipment.

So, all in all, am I totally screwed? I do not have the time or money to rebuild the entire setup. I plan on doing a lot of cosmetic clean-up and tuning, but I cant do a total rebuild.

Also, Thumper, do you want to go to this? Its in Milan on July 21st or so.

yeah, you will be in for a super rough time. securing wiring a terminations is a massive part of their scoring.

I ran a 10 awg fused power wire from my battery to an area under my dash (close to the brake peddle), which connects to a fuse block. This fuse block connects to all my processors and HU.
I did it for the ground wires as well.
I'm not too familiar with IASCA rules about how far the HU fuse can be extended from the HU, but it works for me.

Well, I think I am actually going to try and musle it out. Gonna pull apart almost everything and try to get pictures and tie up all the loose ends. I am going to add in fusing in the back I believe, but dont really know how. Also, anyone know what size to use for a PLD, bass cube, and the DEQ?

2A should be enough for em. You don't have to be "that" close to their actual usage. If something goes wrong you'll cross a 2A or even 5A threshold right quick!
