hi guy just wondering for those who own have owned or have heard a clean loud set up in the 2or4 door civic coupe
what sounded good?
here are the subs i own
i also want to know if facing them front and sealing the wall or have them firing into the trunk is best

i have all the power i will need for any of these set ups
i like rap/dance ect
so i also like sealed boxes other than styker car(crazy ported) car i have never like ported boxes

2 old school jl 15w0-
2 old school focal 11" 27vx subs
or a 12" treo ssi12.2
what will rock the car(130db plus) but still be clean
i have q form kick panels and i can add mid bass sub in the door for front stage

i have 2 audison amp with more power than i need and a bass knob coming. upgraded batt and h/u alt 0 gauge wire
so this will not be a problem. also i will order more sound matting but have about 50sqft now

let me know what you think
mike

boxes generally sound better facing backwards in those cars from what I have seen.

not much headroom there, I prefer to over-power then to under-power.

kg1961,

Good afternoon. Have you checked out the install in my 1999 Civic Si in the "installs" section?

I have a single RF Punch 12 in a 1.1 cu./ft. mounted in the spare tire well facing straight up. It's powered by the M25. I think it sounds pretty good.

The old box I originally built for the car was designed to fit vertically between the floor and metal cross member under the rear speakers. So it could be turned to face the back of the seat or the back of the trunk. When I tested it, I seemed to remember it sounded better facing the back of the trunk rather the seat-back.

Well, I'll never have to worry about cracking my windshield. :)

My system is geared toward SQ and not SPL. Hell, it's only 210 total rated watts! [(40w x 4) + (25w x 2)] But for a single 12" in sealed box, I think it's pretty damn loud. The M25 gives it about 140w or so. I'd love to use an M100 for the sub, but I don't have the cash for one of those, plus the M44 and M25 fit nicely between the wheel wells up against the back of the seat.

My install raised my trunk floor a total of three inches with about 2/3s of the sub box down in the spare tire well. If you used your two Focal 11" subs or the single 12" Treo, you could probably a box big enough recessed into the spare tire well for the same type of false floor install. However, your two 15s would definitely not work without significantly raising the floor height.

What year is your Civic?
