12" sub recommendations?

The time has come to replace my much loved, used and abused subs. Ive been rocking these for 14yrs on various amplifiers ranging between 600 and 1500 watts for the pair and they've lapped it up. I'm only replacing due to the foam surround begining to crack.

I'm running them sealed, 1 cube each with poly.
I know they're made for i/b or vented, but in said sealed box on a zx600ti I measured 142db@46hz at the windscreen on a termlab.

Budget for new subs is around £300/$500 for the pair.
I'm currently using an RSD1200.1 for sub duties, so need a 2ohm final load.

So far ive shortlisted Diamond D3's, Kicker Solo-classic and Kicker comp VR so i would appreciate peoples thoughts and experiences of these and would welcome any other recommendations.

Thanks in advance.

i too love they way the old kickers from the 90's sound. if you want to keep that same sound there are not many options. first the new solo classic does not sound like the old c or f series. the comp vr are pretty close and the diamond i know know, but i doubt they do. there is a company the is the old build house for the kickers. i have tried to find out which of there drivers are the same as some of the old kickers but i never got a "these are the same as". here is there web site http://credencespeakers.com/Merchant2/m ... e_Code=CSI . i think that there small sealed series are the same as the solo d series and the heavy duty sealed are the xpl c series and the classic series are the old c series.

if you like the subs that much and the surround is all that is the problem, that is easy and cheap to replace.

I do like the subs, but having read numerous times on different forums how subs have come on in leaps and bounds over the years I was expecting to be told "swap for 'x' much better, you'll never look back" etc. but if that isn't the case then a repair/refurb may be in order.
I have looked at the creedence woofers and may well fire off an email to see how much i'll get stung for shipping on a pair of solobaric equivalents.
