Power cable question

Ok, so right now I have a knuconceptz 4ga from batt to truck supplying a 1300w monoblock (should be at least 2 ga, I know). I'm adding a Ryval for another 150w for the doors. I happen to have a 15ish' length of Stinger 4ga layin around. Ordinarily, I know the conventional thing to do would be upgrade my batt to trunk to a 0ga, but then I have to buy another length of cable, AND I'll be wasting two perfectly good 4ga cables. Would it be ridiculous to just use the Stinger cable and run the addition 4a from batt to trunk (to a distro go out to 4ga and an 8ga). It seems like I'd get about the same power transfer, and there's the whole using what I've already got thing. Wuddaya think?

nothing wrong with it other then running the same cable 2 times is twice as much work and you still better hope you don't upgrade later.

if it were me I would pull all the 4 awg out and sell it except for a few feet. Run a 0 awg to a dist block and then 4 out to your amps and you will be ready for anything in the future.

at least for now I'm gonna run the second 4ga since i already have one in and really dont wanna spend the dough on 15' of 0ga...especially since i'll soon be purchasing a new batt (prolly the stinger spp1200)

lol nevermind, ordered 22.5' (17' red and 5.5' blue) of 0ga so I can finally do this right

did you get dist blocks and ring terminals also? If not I have an extra knuconcept gound/power dist and some pg 0 awg ring terminals if you need them.

yup, sure did and a Kinetic HC1800 battery.. can't wait till it all comes!
