Any issues with using CCA over OFC cable?

My Cadence 0ga cable came today. I was impressed with the flexibility and conductor thickness, so I went online to see what some other users of it thought. What I was finding was a bunch of people griping that this cable is actually CCA, not OFC cable and how CCA is inferior (voltage drops). I know that knuconceptz is CCA and people seem to be a fan of it, so does anyone wanna chime in on this? did I get crappy cables?

You'll be fine. Send it back if you must/want to. Curious as to if you did some research before you bought this wire? Did it say it was OFC or CCA where you bought it? Your not running mega watts, neither am I, but I feel better with OFC in my car.....

ah yea there are alot of people that can suddenly hear a difference in the power wires they are running even though they could not tell the difference with different rca cables or speaker wires.... Don't sweat it, run your wire and don't give it a 2nd thought.

CCA is inferior to OFC, but that doesn't mean CCA is worthless/useless. OFC has better conductivity. Therefore you can get away with a smaller guage cable of OFC (for the same current demand) when comparing to CCA. OR visa versa, just plan on a slightly larger guage of CCA when utilizing it over OFC.

well, when I went back and rechecked the description after the fact, I realized it said "High Purity Oxygen Free Copper Stranding". I originally took this to mean pure OFC, but the part i missed that says "engineered with other specialized elements" probably means aluminum. as far as research goes, before I bought it, I checked out a couple of box opening videos on youtube and read the specs. here's a link to where i bought it.

the wording is kinda misleading. i would have thought it was copper other than the price.

IMO it really isn't all that big of a deal and nothing I was ever concerned with.

I was thinking Id heard the cadence was ofc just a little thin. Doesnt knu sell both cca and ofc? Honestly cca is just fine as long as you dont exceed the amperage rating. Ive never heard of wire causing voltage drop either.

yeah im not gonna worry too much about it. im coming in just under 1500 watts between my two amps, so even if this cable isnt top notch, it should definaly be sufficient for my application.

any wire is safe as long as you do not go over its current rating as a general rule.

I can't say i know the exact amperage rating cuz it wasn't listed, but I'm pretty sure its over the max of 150a my system could draw :)

I actually have Cadence (apparently CCA)but mentioned Knu because Knu also makes CCA.

the rule of thumb i always use is cca can run at about 80% of what i would run same gauged copper at. as long as it meets your capacity needs, i would just go ahead and use it.
