I have a 2005 gmc sierra crew cab that i want to put a system in. I have a not picked speakers for the front yet[thinking of hertz,focal,dynaudio or ID] but pretty sure i will use a idq 10 for the sub[or a dynaudio]. Sub location will be in the center console once i get around to making the rather complicated box. For amps i have an ms2250at, an ms275 and an m44. Thinking about running everything off of the m44 but not sure if it will have enough oomph for the sub? Not looking to win any spl comps with this set up but want it to sound as good as possible while still being somewhat loud. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Good afternoon. I used the rear channels of my M44 to power one RF Punch 12 (single 4 ohm voice coil) for over a year before I picked up an M25 to takeover the duty. I was really happy with it. Granted, my modest system is a SQ setup, but with an LPL-44 directly hooked up to the M44, it got pretty damn loud!

What you could, especially if you haven't bought a sub yet, is get one with two 4 ohm voice coils. That way you could bridge the front channels for one v.c. and the rear channels for the other v.c. That way your sub would be getting around 320 watts. Plus, with the M44, you only need to run RCAs into the front channels to operate both front and rear channels. I love the M44; it's pretty awesome.

I put a single 10 in a consol in my truck and was really happy with how it sounded in the end. Mine was rear facing and it just made the bass sound like it was right in the middle of the car like it was.

that was my plan but i want to face it forward. you can get a JL audio stealthbox with a 10w3 in it but i don't want that sub at all. Pretty sure you can't buy it unloaded though or i would. Hoping that it will sound really good due to having all the drivers in the front of the vehicle. I may build a center console for the rear and install a sub with some output. At least then i could use my ms2250!

I would use the M44 for the front speakers bridged or maybe active 2-way if you have the processing power in your head unit. MS275 is perfect for sub duty unless you need ludicrous power.

If you just want a soft blending sub that is basically flat with your front stage, you will be happy. If you want more oomph, you should go bigger.

That's the way I have my system setup with the M25 powering the Punch 12. It get's surprisingly loud.

On the other hand, the M44 is the most powerful amp I have ever owned, unless you count the Pyramid PB1000 I had in college. I think that thing was rated at "800 watts" or something ridiculous like. Please note the quotation marks because I'm sure it was probably closer to 200 watts and that was with about 73% THD.

so maybe the m44 bridged to power left and right and then the ms2250ta for the sub? Does anyone see a problem with running an idq10 dvc 4 ohm in stereo off of the 2250? I think this is what i would actually like to do but i see absolutely no place to mount those two rather large amps. Any ideas?
