Dumb questions:
1. Have 3 L.A. RCA hooked up to Eclipse CD8455 units 4 months ago. Since I don't have a sub amp, I tucked in 1 pair underneath rear seat (without putting protective cover). Now, that pair does NOT work.
Am I shortenning HU by any chance as Eclipse has 8V out? Or the RCA is simply no good?
Now the RCA for SUBs is working only 1 pair. The other pair does not work. Am I missing something here?
2. Yesterday, I bridged X100.4 to 2 channels for front comp. It was good for whole afternoon (played 5 to 6 songs) but at night the left component has considerably less volume (less loud) than the right one. What happened?
Thanks in advance.

I am at a loss, the RCA can short but I have never seen it half work if the RCA shorting was the root of the problem.
Try swapping the RCA connections around at the HU and at the amp to see if the issue is at the HU in the RCA or at the amp.
If all else fails try a different HU Amp and RCA until you can eliminate the issue.

Errin,
I am lost too. Even called Matt at PG. He is also lost.
Regarding the sub RCA, I have found the answer .... the HU had an option of mono and stereo mode for Non-Fader output. I might be playing around with this long ago as I couldn't get enough power (X100.4) to 12W6v.2 in stereo mode. Thus, I opted mono.
Others are still unsolved. I'll do try swapping RCAs even HU when I have long weekend.
Thanks Errin.

Mono mode would explain the sub issue which wouldn't really solve much unless you are playing with two subs on two independent channels of amplification.

Another thought, you bridged 4 channels into 2, If I read correctly? So how did you connect the RCA's to the amp?
Did you connect Right to the rear inputs via Y adaptor and left to the front inputs via Y adaptor? If not that will explain your issue right there.
Also there is a switch on the amp which says 2/4 channel input, leave this in the 4 position. Now when you adjust the gains with the config I have mentioned above you will need to adjust front gain for the Left channel and rear gain for the right.

Correct. I am bridging 4 ch to 2 ch. I connect the RCA just the way it is (without Y cable) to the amp.

No, Y adaptor. I thought in the manual stated that 4ch/2ch button was exactly that i.e. to eliminate Y adaptor.
If it is not then what is their function? Why am I hearing fine for the first part of afternoon?

The 2/4 channel switch allows for you to not need an RCA when running 4 channel of amp with only two channels of signal. This switch only works if you are running four channels not bridged.
Essentially you are bridging left and right making a mono signal then you are jumping that signal from the front input into the rear input by the 2/4 switch.
2Ch button works

Errin,
Just FYI.
Haven't tried the Y adapter yet.
But today, I try the 2ch button (pushed in) .... it (bridging) works.
I am good for now.
