big 3 question

I was watchin a video of some dude showin off his system and his under the hood cabling included an engine (at the alt mounting bolt i think) to chassis. I checked online and all of the "how to"s recommend an engine to chassis connection as the third step as opposed to adding a batt neg to alt mounting bolt like is mentioned in the "proper power" here in the phorum. Is this just six of one, half dozen of the other?

I did both. I used a longer bolt the what was stock to hold the alt on, and then just put a nut on the back and tightened it down and ran that to the chassis. I then took a second ground that I connected to a bolt that holds my coil on, and ran that to my battery.
What the big 3 is made to do is to get rid of the factory choke points. If you run 4 awg in your car, and teh stock grounds are only 8 awg well then you may not be getting full power.

makes sense...my current big 3 is all 0ga which is the same as what I'm running to the trunk...I'll go ahead and add that 4th cable. Will it matter if I attach the chassis lead to the same point on the alt that the batt neg is on?
