Hi, I'm looking for ti5 or ti6 components. Also looking for rings and grills for the ones I already have. I'm looking forward to starting my install in a 2001 GMC Sierra 2500HD. Is there anyone with good pics of an install in this vehicle. Looking for great ideas. I want this install to get looks. I've been collecting gear for years. And waited long enough to get started.

Sweet job on that box. Your right if flows with the interior great. I love it.
I can't decide if I want to build my box under my back seat, or do a blow through from the truck box. I'll be putting in four Phoenix gold ti10d's

Upgraded my main chassis ground to 2/0. Upgraded my power to 1 ga right to the alternator. Still getting alternator whine in system. Gerrrrr. Frustrating as hell.

I will be adding a new ground from the main battery to mounting bolt of alternator tomorrow. Hoping to add positive and negative fused distribution blocks, and then replace all the amp wiring on the weekend.
If I don't get rid of this whining noise soon, I think I'll go crazy.

A friend of mine has a Kenwood basic deck, 4 volts out, iPod ready... If he uses all 3 RCA outs, he gets whine. If he uses the sub out, and either of the front or rear out (not both front and rear), the noise goes away. No RCAs hooked at the amps, dead silent at 3/4 gain. 3 sets of great shielded RCAs from the deck to the amps routed temporarily over the seats, noise.

You may want to isolate the source of the noise if you haven't already....

Thanks, I have a feeling it is my head unit. I currently have a pioneer avic z1. Good news is hopefully my new deck will arrive today. It's a pioneer avic z140bh. Crossing fingers that the problem goes away. If not, im going to move the amps and install a backer board for mounting the amps. I read on another post that screwing the amps to the chassis can pickup noise.

you really dont want the amps mounted to the body, they need to be on a board so no screws that go thru the amp hits anything but wood.

you should not really have a problem with them mounted to the body myself the only time I had an issue with a pg item grounding out was a line driver in the dash.

Do you guys think that the seat bolt is a good place to ground? Or should I run a ground from the battery.

keep the ground as short as possible and be sure to scrape the paint where you connect it and you will be fine.

Well I have replaced all my power wires, still have noise in the system. Going to replace RCA's today and I'm hoping the new deck arrives today.

Has anyone used a jbl ms8 processor? What do you think of it? I was thinking of putting it in after I figure out the noise issue.

I think I have discoverd the noise villan.
When I did cable tests every thing was fine. But realized today that when I sit in the drivers seat the noise is there. I did not notice it till I changed out the sub amp to the rsd1200.1. As soon as I hooked it up a sat in the seat and the subs popped and noise was there. Get out and gone. So long story short I'm sure the seat is pinching an RCA. Kinda makes a guy feel like a dummy. But don't quote me on that. Lol

sounds good or is this the seat you have the ground going too? You can test rca's by just running a temp cable above the carpet to see what happens.

The system ground is bolted down at the back behind the rear seat were the jack used to mount. I have not tried different RCA's as yet. Just noticed since putting in the new sub amp that I get a poping noise when I get in and out of the vehicle. Either way I'll be changing all the RCA's very soon. Getting 3 brand new amp at the end of the month. So I'm going to splurge on some good RCA's. (I'm so excited).
