Sapphire SA1.5x UPDATE, it's here. 7-14-12

Just snagged one for cheap (i think so) and was wondering if anyone has ever really done an output test on it. What would the real world numbers be at 13.8/14.4 volts?

I haven't read the manual yet (just downloaded it) but is the power supply regulated or unregulated?

And, do these amps suffer from "caps" disease like the others from this time frame? O feel they do, bit would like some clarification.

Thanks.

Here's what I just got today......

PG Sapphire SA1.5X

A bit pi$sed as the seller said it was benched before listed and all chs worked. As you will see, there's no way for that to be true. It was packed horribly to boot. The speaker terminal was busted at both ends upon arrival. I'll get it cleaned up and with the help of ampguts, be able to fix/repair/replace what's damaged. Caps will be replaced too. Any other tips thoughts, I'm open to suggestions.

I didn't spend a whole lot for it, but more then I would have knowing the condition it was in. The left chs seem to be fine, but one R ch is fried and the other R ch is on its way, along with the sub ch being shot. None of the fets look damaged though.

Ignore the last pic, that's of an M50.

My purpose for this post is I need some help. If anyone has one of these amps, please let me know. Ampguts doesn't have a good enough pic for me go get the color bands off of some of the resistors.
