Whats the point of these?

I know why fuses are used in general, but I cant recall ever reading about anyone having to replace them. As far as I know MS amps will go into protect mode if overdriven or sometimes the power supply will fry. But shouldnt the fuses blow before the PS fries?

MS 275 has 16 amp fuses on the rails i think. I dont like them because they are puny little things with a very small contact area and a weak hold on the fuses.

When an output transistor fails, these fuses pop. This prevents more damage to the amp than just the output transistor.

I don't know if this is the reason they put them in the amps, but this has been my findings, and I am pretty sure because of them, a lot more MS amps can be fixed than just thrown away.

I thought the output transistors in these are almost indestructible. Reason being, folk are always posting pics of MS amps with the PS fets all over the place. They seem to let go before the output devices do.

This fuses didn't help at all that is why they was bypassed on the TA edition. If you plan to run the amplifier hard I recommend that you replace the 10A fuse with a 15A or 20A. If one of those fuses blow it's cut rail voltage to the amplifier circuit but the current will start flow though stock supply circuit and kill it then the clipping circuit and others depending how long the amplifier was on and which fuse was blown.
