Using 2 channels of a 4 channel

I killed an amp today. I have a few 4 channels that put out to much power to run bridged to my comps so I was thinking of running just 2 channels to my fronts and leave the other 2 unused. This wont hurt anything, right?

It wont hurt anything unless you run some crazy low ohm load on two channels.
If you run bridged you can always turn the gains way down. Depends on the amp though. M & MS series have 2 volt sensitivity when gains are at their minimum whereas ZX series have 6 volts.

yeh. I did this with a xs4600 once and blew my comps and took out the amp in the process with the gains all the way down. The amp I need to use the front channels on is another 4600,. I dont want another in the tub "o" broken amps :-p
I actually have a set of old purple sony xm amps. The low impedance ones. I threw the 4 channel in there bridged. its supposed to be 200wrms x2 like that. Seems to run the DDs just fine. Amazingly enough it sounds very very clean and seems to have a little headroom.
