Hey everyone NUB here,

Picked up a ZPA .03 v2 , not sure if it can rise from the ashes...

Anyway the board that the fans are plugged into has a few burnt resistors and when I figure out how to make the pics smaller so I can upload them you'll see what I'm talking about

what you can see here, is the typical "V1" problem..... so this amp needs service and an ugrade to V2.

contact Valeks1 or Eric D. there busy people, check who has time for you.......

both resistors get very hot in the V1 version. doing the upgrade will solve this problem. it's not more then that.

But you have to admit you drove the amp really hard , not ?

Succes and don't worry, this is a simular seen problem..... once upgraded to V2, problem will be solved.....

Do you live in the usa or europe ?

I don't know if somebody told you that, but this is not a V2, it is a V1 version for sure.

with a V2 version this wasn't happened.

count how many fan blades are on the amp this can tell you v1 or v2

not only the fans. in a V2 version, R75 is blank, here is still a resistor in..... also R35 and R36 are

330 ohms, in a zpa0.3 V2 they are 270ohms (zpa0.5 stays 330ohm).

the fans here will have normally 11 blades(panaflo models), on the board you can see it has the 91 ohm resistors in it.

with the adda fans( 7 blades ) it has the smaller 51 ohm resistors in.....

I received it in this condition...for $0, it also cracked the plexiglass cover and left a nice burn mark
I live in Canada

Thanks for the help guys, I will get in touch with either Valeks1 or Eric D as I think it may be worth fixing and adding to the collection until I can decide on what to use...the only thing installed to date is the Eclipse cd5030 H/U

that will be a smart thing. please just one advice.... don't let a backyard repairer do the job for you because

he" promised " i can do it for less money      it is a difficult job to desolder correctly

the vertikal boards without ripping traces and once that happens the shit begins......

i would not worry about the dicolored resitors.... after repair it is fine..... but maybe there's more damage, but not seen now......

good luck with it anyway

I have a fully functioning V1 0.3 that I was either going to upgrade and use or sell as-is. it has no damage or issues and works perfect. I'm an EE and repair amps occasionally.

is the V2 upgrade documented anywhere? it'll save me time.
