My friend is trying to say this thing he calls the little black box is better than the bass cube. He claims it was made by phoenix gold back in the 90s, but never was put into production. Anyone ever heard of this thing before, and any more info would be great, cause if it is better than the basscube, i want to try to buy it from him

looks like a cross over to me but not sure on brand. The circuit board would tell you what you need to know. Been painted over what ever it was.

Its diffently not a xover since it only has one set of rca output. Maybe morgan can shed some light on this subject, cause im wondering if the dude is pulling my chain.

Looks to me like a low pass filter with a bass boost. Little black box that many people refer to is a mtx lsb1. I have 2.

I have never seen this black box, but it certainly looks like a Basscube proto.

Would have to see the guts to confirm its a PG item, but the screws, sheetmetal and potentiometers match pretty closely to what we used at that time.

I am curious what is the button or pot in the lower right hand corner says?

Internals match was PG used at that time. Looks legit to me.
