need some help.
I have a "lil" system in my beater. It consists of 2pr-ti6cs ran on xs 4300, 2-12" eminence midbass ran on xs 2500, 2-18" incriminator death row ran on IA 20.1. I have 2- 35ah batteries, and 800amp capcell. Stock alt and battery under the hood. All 1/0 wiring. Last night I was going home, jamming pretty hard. Well, both highs amps shut down, bit subs kept playing. I immediately stopped to check what was going on. Voltage with car running, lights on, system off was at 12.5. So, I apparently finished my alternator off.lol. in the process when I did that, my voltage must have dropped very low causing both xs amps to protect. So, I unplugged the sub amp, and drove home. I tried to turn the highs back on, the components played flawlessly, 12's bumped twice and that was all she wrote. Xs 2500 went up in smoke. I pulled it today, couple transistors are burnt on power supply side and a few resistors next to them. My question is this, why would the 2500 smoke and not the 4300? The 4 ch is running 2ohm stereo, 2 ch was running 4ohm stereo. And secondly, who can repair it, and how much?

Re: need some help.
Sounds like the you had a pretty severe low voltage issue and because of it, your gear was being stressed. There are multiple reasons why the I could see the 2500 having problems before the 4300. Even though the 2500 is only running at 4ohm, I'm sure it was still being driven hard for those 12" midbass to keep up with the sub's output. And the 4300 running at 2ohm doesn't really throw up any red flags either. I'm assuming that you have a high pass filter engaged for the components? If so and to some extent, this would actually relieve the amp from working as hard as it might have been if it were trying to run the comps full bandwidth. That being said, there's nothing saying the 4300 or even the IA 20.1 were far behind from harm as well. In a way, you should feel lucky that you only have issues with just one amp.
Those IA 20.1 amps are monsters! You should really look into upgrading your charging system with such a beast.

Yeah, I'm running a eq 215ix, plus the built in xover on the xs amps. I can understand why the 2500 would have to work harder running midbass, but I figured the 4300 running at 2ohm vs 4ohm would even things out. I know the IA stuff is badass, I'm a dealer. I have a 200a alternator coming for it already. Anyhow, who can fix this for me? Eric maybe?

BTW, I've had it on charge all day. Just popped my cherry. Did a 150.4 at 51hz, sealed on dash.
