hey everyone,

i got a few questions hopin someone here might have some answers. so i got a 08 f150 with the audiophile system with nav. i want to replace the sub with something better. the stock one is decent but its nothing like a "real" sub. i saw the slim line subs in a flyer so i checked them out and they only need like .3ft of mounting depth which is pretty much perfect for fitting under the seat. i def want the new sub to be a small/hidden as possible. i would rather not have to buy an amp right now because its not in the budget and i really dont need these new toys lol. so is there an amp some where inside the truck that powers the sub? or is the amp built into the sub? and lastly, if the amp has to get swapped out, is a new set of wires required for that new amp? or will what ever is there now work?

thanks

I would say yes there is an amp. My mustang has 8" dvc subs in the doors run off factory amps. Mine are 1.2 ohm for each coil so measure your coil b4 you buy.

ford likes to make it really hard to match an aftermarket sub to their gear.
