Hey Guys
So I finally got my 900.7 installed. Everything running at a stock 4 ohm load , getting signal from a MS8 .
All of the gains are at approx 1/2 which is 2V as defined.
Problem being the amp is getting hot and going into protection after 30 - 40 mins.
the fans are working as they should but the casing becomes so hot u cant touch it.
I know the fets for this beast sit in the section where the fans are, however this bad boy is getting warm closer to where the RCA's plug in.
Area of heat
Any idea's ???

Very strange place for an amp to get hot... nothing but crossover and capacitor under your circled areas.

are the fan running back ward pushing hot air into the amp?

Fans are sucking air in, blowing out via the centre and side vents.
Its a seriously good sounding amp , I am just wondering if the bias gains have not been tempered with.

Ok , some more information, unplugged all the RCA's except the ones running to my mid/tweeter pod. This is a 4in an tweeter on a passive
ADS , the big old school passives, amp is still heating up . No other RCA's are in so the amp cannot be outputting anything on there.
Does the centre pick up a speaker is connected to route the power there ???

I think you still have +/- 15 volts DC going through the preamp. An opamp can get pretty hot if shorted. The voltage divider resistors on these amps can discolor the board and may get hot enough to burn your skin.

I think the best would be to see if the heat is coming from one of the opamps or all of them. If its all then it might be an issue on the power suppy side.
Another thing is if the amp is going into thermal protection then it would be picking up the temp of the heatsink, so maybe check if the output stage is not heating up as well.

Found the issue, I had the lower right hand side vent covered by cables, this seems to be where the most amount of heat sits on the amp. Once I moved the cables away the amp cooled down.
