ok so iam putting together are system for the wifes jetta.here is what i have so far:
2-ms275
2 sets boston pro lf comps 6.5"
1 old school 12w6
looking for a set of 4" for front doors
still looking for double din
how could i run both comps on one ms275?or is that asking too much?
and would the other run the 12w6?
any suggetions would be great on how to get a good sq set up with two amps.
i also have a polk pa 500.4 but not sure of the quality and if i even want to use it,any know much about these?

You can easily run 2 sets of comps. If they are 4 ohm the MS275 wont be even near its capacity. If you take care of proper cooling and plenty of power to the amps they will drive 1ohm loads.
Only problem is you cant adjust the level of the comps individually. If the other set is going in back doors that might sound bad.

Positive to positive and negative to negative for each set of going to each channel, the amp will see a 2 ohm load on each channel. So write the comps parallel to each channel.
On the extra amp wire the sub bridged to the amp, the amp will see a4 ohm mono load (assuming the sub is a single voice coil 4 ohm sub.)

yea one set i have no tweeters are going in the rear doors, others in front with a set of 4" mids(still looking for a set).how bad will it sound withset in rear doors?should i just go with a set of coax 6.5" and run them off deck power?would that sound better.
also my sub going in will be a old school jl 12 w6 ae so i think they are 6 ohm.i can purchase another sub if there are any decent priced ones, but this is one i am taking outta my ski boat, also have a 4 oh jl 12w3.oh.........what to do lol

the boston pro 6.5series , 2 and 3way, are 3ohm impedance , not 4ohms !!!!!!!
wiring parallell will give you 1.5ohm, not 2 ohm. the ms275 could handle that but will
get very hot soon if you play very loud.....
the jl audio 12W6V1 is 2 x 6 ohm DVC, will give you a 3 ohm brigded lead.....
same story. the ms275 can handle that but will get very hot soon if you play very loud.....
So if it's you're goal to play loud and for a longer time, search for an extra amp........
Or .....make a shroud and use some good fan's.... 3 to blow and 3 to suck the air at the other end......

3 ohm vs 4 ohm is really not a big deal in this case. Yes the Bostons are a nominal 3 ohm, but a pair in parallel will not be that big of a load on an MS275.

i did not want to give you wrong info. if my own neighbour would come to me with exact the same speakers, sub and amp i would tell him the same.
I just wanted to say....

think there 4 ohm like the old 6.4 series, the 6.5 series are 3 ohm.....
maybe i should not have made the comment
"you're amps will get very hot when you play at full power"

.....especially when it's you're wife's car, who probably is not a loud listener.....
but i personally think that a ms275 on one boston 6.5 compo will give a very good result....sound quality wise.......
for 2 sets, it will probably comes just that short on power..... the old boston pro series need power to play fine.....
anyway, i wish you succes with you're install

Thanks for the info. Think I'm gonna run just one set to my ms and fun deck power to rear doors for fill. Don't plan on runnin super high volumes, just on occasion. I have two sets of Boston's ,wich would the better. First set is the original, I think the 6.4. Those have the smaller black covers. Other set is the newer ones with the inverted dust ca and black xover with the clear cover. What ones are better sq wise? I had the first generation set back in the early 90s and loved the

ah you're two way sets are not exactly the same... so you have one 6.4 twoway set and one 6.5 twoway set.....
the first one is 4 ohms, the second 3 ohms, just to be wright, will indeed not be the most difference.
the biggest difference is in the tweeter. the .4 tweeter has a titanium dome, the .5 tweeter a aluminium dome....
Not everybody likes the titanium tweeters...I heard alot people complain about that in the past......
My answer to them was always the same..... i said.... you're wright about it, you know what, i'll buy that set from you,
i quess you don't ask much for such an agressive playing set

hahaha.......
No, most of my .4 stuff i bought new in 1998; i bought some sets later on from people secondhand......
the 6.4midbass is a 6inch, the 6.5midbass is a 6.5inch......
i heard the .5 series when they came out new, and didn't found them better then the .4 series.....
although i'm for sure the passive filter of the .5 series is better cause it has higher quality components in it....
better coils, caps , resistors.....
I still have alot two and threewaysets .4 today and they still perform great.....
my opinion is, unless you wanna rebuild you're doors in fiberglass,
one set will do it in the front doors, but i would totally sounddeatening them...... that does a lot......
you're personal taste wil decide if you want the .4 or the .5 set.....
