I want to use the ti crossover with the elite.4 Amp, and two sets of ti6 components. If I wire it this way what impedance will the amp see? And would this affect the crossover? I would like to see a 2 ohm load.
Reason for this is my old ti setup had two 4 Chanel amps, but the new elite amps are just to large to fit three amps in the cab. So I am trying to make it work with one .1 and one .4

seems like a lot of people pulling these out of the closet again. Will it effect the Ti x-over? No other then it will not receive a full-range signal, and will see less power since passives eat up power and you are doing it 2x.

Why would it not see a full range? And does the crossover make the load 4 ohm no matter what? Or will it drop to 2ohm for the amp? I would go active but I just don't have enough channels.

Are you wanting to run the .4 in 2 channel, or 4 channel mode?

If you are asking about running two sets of mids off one passive crossover, then no, you cannot do that. The 2 ohm load would change the crossover point of the system, its components are tuned to a 4 ohm load.

Thanks Eric, so if I were to use two ti crossovers and wire parallel to the amp, the amp should then see a 2 ohm load and the crossovers will see a 4 ohm load from the comps. Is this right?

Scott, yes I will running all four chanells. Fronts and rears. The fronts I would like to see a 2 ohm load as there is two sets of ti6 comps. And the rears will be 2ohm running two sets of ti5's.

yes if you wire two x-overs, with two paires of speakers in parallel it should be ok then.

What about going the active route? Are most of you guys using the crossovers? Or running active? I do have a couple mx3i and a ax406a. I would love to use my eq125ix and eq232 but there simply is nowhere to put them.

I am going active on my old Ti Elite 3-ways but for one reason and one reason only - I bought that bad-ass one-off rane/pg 3 way electronic cross over that use to be in the bmw show car years ago. If it were not for that I would have no problems using the included cross over and adjusting the signal other ways if needed. They spend a lot of time matching the cross over too the speakers and I would be fine for them if it were not for the one-off piece.
