Im going to look at an oscilloscope tomorrow. My knowledge is limited on how these work. Anyone know what I can do to make sure it works?
I can put tones on my phone and I have a couple of 1/8 stereo to RCA cables I can use/cut up. Thanks.

Anyone with an o-scope should be able to turn it on, and test the wall outlet to show a 60Hz signal between 100V-120V.
Some o-scopes have a test output on them you can probe and look at a reference signal.

Heres a pic. Can I use this to set the gains on my amps? What else could I use it for? I basically getting it for free in a trade.

You have to start somewhere. I bought a tek465 and love it.....it's bulky and not portable but that's why i have a handheld o-scope. But i rather look at waves on the 456.
