x200.4 > x1200.1 ? Should I...

So my trunk is getting a little crowded. Should I take my 1200.1 out and run my subs off my 200.4?

I am running two bostonacoustics pro series 10s.

I don't use two channels of my 200.4.

Bridge the 200.4 and keep the 1200.1      But I am a sick person I have been told

don't get rid of it, just get more creative with the install

how are they installed, maybe we can help you figure something out.

(like taking off the cases, and mounting them end to end under plexi...)

(maybe you could get a 200.2 and essentially run the same system with less space? combine this with the above idea...?)

They are sitting on a piece of MDF in the spare tire well. The amps are too long to lay end to end or anything else really.

I am keeping the amp install totally stealth so really looks are not too important.

The amps are so tight in there now that the damn RCAs ground out or something making all kinds of nasty little animal noises.

That has to be extremely tight. I'm debating on doing the same amp option as you. X1200.1 and X200.4 but the size of these two bastards is ridiculous. I sure would like to replace the X200.2 with the 4 channel though.

yeah. Its hard to figure out how to put the surf boards back there.

I suppose I could tilte the amps...I have space in the vertical direction

If you want to sell the x1200.1, I'm interested in buying. ;)

You could try a set of 600.1's and a 200.2. Do you really need that 1200.1 for your bass line ?

I mean you certainly could get smaller amps especially if you don't need the last 400 watts of that 1200.1.

The surfboard design of the Xenon did not help it much in the market place, but I drive a Suburban so what do I know.? I almost have room for a pool table in back    Hope someone here gives you some good ideas

haha

Well I am inline to get the new PG LE amp. This really will be just until then.

200 watts per sub seems like it would be okay. I may just give it a shot like I should have done before making a thread. Thanks guys.

No, the 1200.1 is a gem I will not let go of lightly. :D

You'll lose 4dB or so, but it may even sound better due to the class A/B. It's worth a shot, you can always try it without removing the amps, and then revert it if you don't like it.

yeah ahsmo... if that gem of yours ever comes up for clearence (aka. you are not using it anymore and dont need it) your good friend brandon will take it off your hands.

but I agree with stipud. just change the wiring without removing the amps to see how it sounds.

if it will ever stop raining, I might do that.

Edit: I ran into that brandon kid last weekend, what a homo. He had like 3 or 4 girls around him and all he could look at was some dude's pants like a hungry wildebeest.

and everybody knows I dont have enough game to pull 3 or 4 girls. 1 or 2 maybe. :hurr: but there was definately ZERO wildebeast looks at male crotches. ZERO looks at all for that matter. :naughty:

I feel ya on the rain though, rained every day here for the past freakin week and a half.

well a/d/s FTW

I turned all my crossovers and such off and ran the components. They certainly can take more bass than I thought. For safety, I put the HP back on at 60hz.

Anyway. I am in the middle of trying to find my damn allen keys so I can so I can re mount my amps in the spare tire well.
