Ok y'all...sub ch stable and max at 1ohm. I'm considering the JL 8w7 but it's 3ohm.
Is there concern at that impedance vs 1ohm, being that I will get WAY less from my amp?
(Ti1600.5 manual says 550rms at 2ohm and 800rms at 1ohm)
So more to ponder here - ugh

At 3ohm ... this means it would be playing even less power than 550? More like 400?
Not sure what to do -
Yea, AGAIN and STILL!!
Two Alpine 8" dvc to play 1ohm vs One JL 8w7 playin 3 .................. too may options now days. Back in he 80s all the frikin subs were 4ohm!! Simple - use it or not.

Yep, that's the purpose of 3 ohm subs. For when two subs isn't enough and four is too many.

....hmmm REALLY - REALLY wished that beastly 8" JL was 1.3 instead of 3... that woul make it 1.5 ohm ... uh, I think? Well what ever it is - it looks like a pair of dvc Alpine TypeR 8" OR a pair of e8 from Sundown.
The more I read the more I like thinking of appx 700 watts +/- RMS to the Alpines!!!!!
Wished somebody had a pair of the 13.5shallows they'd sell me for - say $250
Anybody else out there luvin sum typeR 8" ....... ?

As far as 8"s go I would look at the Type R's or the Sundown SA's or SD's depending on whether you'll run ported or sealed.
