So I got my hands on an Xmax 12 and I am now using it in my install. its 100% stealth, pics are in my install thread, but I must say, so far I really like it. its running off my 5th and 6th channels on my MacIntosh amp, and there seems to be plenty of power going to it. I do need to tweak it a bit, and I need more listening time, but so far so good.
One thing I cant find on the download.phoenixphorums info for this sub is the frequency response. Should I have it crossed over at 80Hz or 120 Hz? I had it at 80 for a few minutes and then tried 120. I just dont want to spend lots of time listening to it at 120 and damage it.
BTW its a version 2 sub, and the spider is not sagging. The guy has another one that Im considering buying to have as a backup.
I finally got to hear an Xmax 12

great subs.... still have 3 of them at the moment ( 12 inch V2 )
http://download.phoenixphorum.com/Manua ... &boxes.pdf
the best enclosure i made for them, check the sheet, is the vented audiophile one, 2.25cuft, vent 4 x 13 inch,
tuned at 29 hz.....great output and great sound....by the way, speaker and vent displacement is already included......
if you can afford you're self a pair of them, don't hesitate... use both, not one as a reserve.......
but they need power, 600W rms /piece....
the day you're zpa0.5 is back fine, at 2 ohm mono that would be a hell of a setup on both 12inch xmax..........;
