PG sub evolution

Post by LowandLoud »

I know its probably crazy, and most people wont get it, but i want to put together a "Sub Evolution" display.

Since i already have numerous different 12" subs, I want to try to find 1 12" of every different model produced and mount them in some sort of display board. Powering them individually would be the next logical step.

My question is: How many different models are there? I am not concerned with SVC/DVC variances. This is what i came up with off the top of my head.

Sapphire
XS
Xmax
*Cyclone*-not sure if i want to include this
Titanium
Ti Elite
Xenon
QX
Tantrum
TantrumX
RSD
RSDc
OctaneR
OctaneZR
Ti
Ti EliteD
Ti2
S line
R line

There are probably some i am missing. Thanks

LL

If you're going for the top line of the eras you'd want the Elite instead of Ti2, but if you want them all, you're missing all of the current subs except Ti2 , as well as Octane and Ryval, and I'm sure others.
Being loud without good sound quality is pointless, but having good sound quality without being loud is also pointless.

Thanks! I thought so too.

Obviously i forgot about the OctaneR. I dont think i have ever seen an OctaneZR or a Ryval sub. I did put the RSD up there, just didnt add the "c". Also, were there multiple Elites? (like EliteD) Or are they all the same, just referenced differently.

*List Updated*

Thanks for the input

There is the Titanium Elite of old and the Elite12D of today.

There is an RSD sub which came out first & an RSDc ("c" for competition) that came out a few years later that was a notable upgrade.

There were 2 versions of the Xmax, v1 had the leads exposed and v2 had them insulated. They had slightly different specs.

I might know where to get a v2 but the basket was painted red (which is why I didn't buy it from him).
A few of these and a few of those.

I was aware of the V1 and V2 Xmax but have not heard of the difference in leads. It was explained to me they have a slightly different Ohm reading. Thanks for sharing!

I actually do not have any XS yet, and that is a hell of a deal. The shipping would kill it for me though. The XS are not so rare that i could not find them local, just waiting for the right deal to come along. Thanks though!

Room to do it will be my issue, lol. I will collect until i have a good chunk of them before i actually build any kind of display. By then, i hope to be in a bigger house. I want to do a "man cave" but focused on auto and stereo (PG) instead of beer signs and moose heads. Should be good times!
