PG Ti2 12 or image dynamics IDQ10 ?

Post by gentlejax2 »

I have both but currently using a IDQ10v3 in a ported box and as expected it slaps the PG ti2 12 I have in sealed . I expected that.

I just looked at the manual on the PG 12 and the box requirement is rather big for a 12 in ported..well bigger than I want. I have 2 of the IDQ10's and I could run both of them in sealed and take up less space that 1 PG 12 in ported.

im pleased with the performance of the IDQ10 in a generic ported box. I cant imagine 2 of them in correct box ported or sealed.

not lots of info out there on the PG that I have seen. might just sell it and save the space.

Can't say about the ID sub, but I had a Ti2 10 in a ported box on 700 watts and now have 4 Ti2 10's sealed on 2,800 watts. The single 10 ported was basically as loud as the four tens sealed, in spite of the drastic increase in power. The sealed box probably meters better, but the ported sub had more authority to it, and got lower.

Based on seeing the difference between those identical subs in sealed and ported boxes, I'd stick with the single ID sub ported myself. If you.do a pair ported that would be better obviously.
Being loud without good sound quality is pointless, but having good sound quality without being loud is also pointless.

I was just suprised to see the box size needed for ported on the PG 12. I think I can easily do 2 IDQ subs sealed for less room than the 12 ported. I am sure the pG is a good sub but might not work for me. I need more room not less

2 cubic feet for a 12" ported enclosure really isn't that bad. The Ti2 10's like 1.75, which is on the big side imo. I'm getting ready to do a 4.5-5 cubic ft box for a pair of Elite 12's ported in mine. They like cavernous boxes.

I can get 2 IDQ in 1 cube sealed or right at 1 in 1 cube ported.

I basically have 1 cube that's it to work with. I have I have room for tools
