Shattering the interwebz power rating's.. PG can sure hold it's head high! That ms275 packs a huge wallop..in stereo no less eh? Now if they all can do over rated like the 275 did... our amps just jumped in price! oh yea..and its already started! Have you seen what the 200 dsm is going for now?? Now that everyone knows it makes 3 or 4 times rated power..cleanly! The Orions... I dont even want to talk about them other than..The sonic bliss NT's havent been tested yet! And they must just be magical, who hasnt seen a 2100 hcca pushing 8 15's?

i had two of mine bench tested... first one 1036 w rms at 4 ohm brigded( 2x 336 w rms at 4 ohm )

second one 1041 w rms at 4 ohm brigded.....( 2x 337 w rms at 4 ohm )

this measured on a power supply at 13.8V

be realistic.....don't start dreaming.................

i will put a jl audio 13W7 on each original ms2250....(with shroud).... at 3 ohm mono.....

curious what they will do.............

for sure they pull current as hell...... :doh: :doh: :doh: :doh: :doh: :doh: :doh: :doh:

using a basscube will make the amps don't pull that much and i can put the gains lower........

I was just being a little sarcastic! a lot of the tests I've seen on FB seem to be a lot higher than results i've seen in magazines over the years, not sure why but there seems to be several ways of testing power output with the dyno.. that RF punch 200 was way higher than I would have ever guessed (they are usually good for 5-600wrms @4hms).

Link or it didn't happen. As far as I'm concerned a MS-275 does 275W rms bridged at 4ohm.

i want a link to the results too! was this an organized competition of some kind?

You say bench tested, do you mean it was clamped? IF so, those #'s are way off.. Not at all reliable. He had a 25 min vid but cant find it, but this will do, also note the 2250 has only 3 pair's of BJT trannys so anything over 1000watts is doing real good. http://youtu.be/baVBdif2y7s

Mr.Wild, are you a lil behind the times lol? Go here https://www.facebook.com/groups/oldscho ... rk_t=group , also checkout this Mag test of 100watts amps, The ms250 does 256 watts @ 4ohms.. it blew fuses @ 2ohms so they didnt get a full pull on it. It's rated @ 50 watts a ch @ 4ohms but pushes out 71 watts @ 4ohms.. SMD dyno test's of as many PG amp's possible will happen shortly. Here's the Mag test. Its in the files section on the OSS FB page , https://attachment.fbsbx.com/file_downl ... ZYuRsDlMrS

Go here https://www.facebook.com/groups/oldschoolstereo/ and Dereck is on youtube also, where all the dyno vids are, but they are posted to the FB page before YT.

Ok ok I got 250 mixed up with the 275, in that magazine test I gave link to.. But it just goes to show PG amps Are under rated.. Everyone needs to understand what happened when the Orion's were tested...They didnt do huge #'s like everyone thought.. Barely rated on the big Orions! Which all this just moved PG up a couple notches.. When the amp dyno tests are all done everyone will be very proud of their PG amps :wink: .. We already know a .5 ZPA is good for 1600+ watts, not 1500 or less.. that # is straight from Morgan.. which has 4 pairs of BJT's per channel. Atleast we have something to look forward to..your PG amps making more power than you thought they did!

my technician had 20 zpa0.5 amps bench tested for me and all of them gave between 1020 and 1055 w rms at 4 ohms........

stereo they gave between 325 and 355 w rms per channel at 4 ohm......

so i can believe these are reliable results...;;;;;measured at 13.8V......;;

my last ms275 tested 279w rms at 4 ohm brigded....... so i quess that's something it should do...........

20 zpa's? Clamping Is not at all accurate.. Tony the maker of the SMD Amp Dyno has proved that with math. It's a good thing.. watch youll see :wink:

Message Morgan and ask him yourself.. 1600 watts with diode mod. Also, if a ms250 make a tad over 250 watts @ 4ohms...dont you think the 275 will do a bit more?

I love my RF's, minty 200 and 4080. Plus the Punch pro 12's that came along with them. I've read they easily do 3x the rated power. They don't kill my wimpy alternator either even at 2ohm mono.

They also did not require any cap change baloney..... :wink:

i had those conversations with Morgan 2 years ago about the zpa0.5.....but i don't prefer to push a "known to be fragile" amp to it's limits.........

then i prefer to use 2 amps.......

I believe the test results i received are very close to be reality.........

( ms275 = 2 x 96 w rms at 4 ohm, 1 x 279w rms at 4ohm

M50 = 2x 86 w rms at 4 ohm, 1x 254 w rms at 4ohm, 1 x 358w rms at 2ohm

M100= 2x 173w rms at 4 ohm, 1 x 475w rms at 4 ohm, 1 x 600w rms at 2 ohm

ms 2125= 2x 156w rms at 4 ohm, 1x 510w rms at 4ohm

etc etc.......

maybe it will give a little bid more at 14.4v probably.......

but be honest, in a class D world, what is 1600W rms today ?????? :hmm: :hmm: :hmm: :hmm: :hmm: :hmm: :hmm:

He does tons of tests, this amp dyno is something that was developed by Steve Meade and D'more engineering. I think it's fairly new, kinda like clamping an amp for output power but this device makes it much easier. Big d (derrick) is a member here, I'm almost certain of it.

one of the settings seems to give a hell of a lot more power that the other, not sure what is going on but it's not what I would have expected! all it's going to do is push the price though the ceiling with values :(

That is SPL burst. You can't run the amp there for very long. The only rating that matters is rms at whatever voltage unless you are one of those that builds a system for quick SPL bursts.

that doesn't make any sence to me and meaningless, a bit like "Max Power" ratings we all slate for being untrue..

Exactly.......but if all you want to do is hit 160 db for 15 seconds, then I guess that number has some value to you.

in that case I would buy a class D amp if sound quality was a low priority and big numbers was all I wanted!
